AmeriCorps members serving in programs who successfully complete a term of service will receive an Education Award from the National Service Trust of $5,550 for a year of full-time service, with correspondingly smaller awards for less-than-full-time service. The amount of the Education Award is determined on the basis of the Pell Grant award. A member has up to seven years after the term of service has ended to use the award.

ServeOhio, Ohio’s Governor-appointed commission on service and volunteerism, administers AmeriCorps funding that targets areas of education, opportunity, healthy futures, veterans, environmental stewardship and disaster services.
